Variable Color Font Illustrations
When working with color in variable fonts it's possible to use the shifting of outlines and morphing of shapes for the creation of moving illustration.
On this page I focus on ASCIIesque illustrations with my self animating typeface Gradial,
using its blocks to build objects and characters.
The variable gradients give the illustrations a life, while still keeping them somewhat static.
The glossy, shining and shifting effects give these illustrations a future-retro feel,
while blending lo-fi and 3D elements together.
All these illustrations are made from a fully functional typeface and endlessly editable.
