In a Variable Font all paths, anchor points and vector directions have to stay consistent across all masters, other than that there are no limits to creativity, letters can become illustrations and morph into anything you can imagine. With some tricks, optical illusions and clever placement, you can blow up, transform, destroy, assemble, spin, etc.,  your creations.
And best off all: These animations are super modular. They are vector based and can be resized dynamically endlessly recoloured, and the animation can be linked with interactivity or triggered in all sorts of custom ways: Wave through letters, random, and much more.
The same animation file can be reused and reimaginged for various purposes.
